well i think Ahtritis care have closed there hotels .might be wrong

was under the imprestion that Athritis care don,t get along with Nras ??????But might be wrong about that .

think there was a promlem with the hotels they delt with ??????????????

I stayed at the AC hotel a few years back... very dated. From my understanding, when AC had financial problems, they were on about selling their chain of hotels.

Well Sat if i do go it will be much later so hotel looking might be out .
But what i will do is to look up on the net too see whats around .
What i do know though you can drive though Cambridge theres nothing near the railway or bus/s Car parking is pricey but ill look in it .
As now done our 3rd meet up and the first though very good was a tight squeze i think hotels new built ones would be what i would go for .For space and i think for staying a pool .I think any hotel with space maybe on the outside of Cambridge as i know Cambridge a tiny bit .

but i will look into it .

then someone please take it over as i cannot cope with paper work .I think what ever we go for Hilton ticks boxs so i would look at something like hilton .

i may be able to have a quick look Sat but will be late .

You turned up a good hotel here! It looks great from the website and very central for access by road and rail. I think we could do to co-ordinate a plan otherwise we might be overlapping our meet ups if not careful! I like the idea of both Chester and Cambridge in the coming months, these will give a reasonable UK coverage with the exception of those in the far north/Scotland and the south west.

So that we can get as many people as possible to each event we should spread them out a bit, say early September for Chester and end of November for Cambridge?? Or similar!!!! We also need to be sure that we are going to get enough attending to make it viable. Where's Helly and her organisational skills when she's needed

PS I'm not sure whether Travelodge and Holiday Inns would be able to accommodate our varied needs. Might be wrong though!

Travelodge not so much, although they should be accessible, its very hit and miss on availability. Holiday Inn are good, being part of an international chain (InterContinental Hotel Group), they are good with accessibility plus facilities like pools etc.... Holiday Inn Express is very much basic so although you'll have some accessible rooms, that'll be it.

I guess it depends on what people are looking for when they want to come to a meet... If its just a place to stay over at with accessible rooms then you could look at Travelodge, Premier Inn etc or if you want somewhere with a swimming pool then look at ABode, Holiday Inn, Hilton, Macdonald Hotels....

Other chains that I have used with work and were very good for disabled access were Principal Hayley Conference & Hotels and Barcelo Hotel Group... Both have leisure facilities

Parkside swimming pool is not far from Gonville Hotel, its on the corner of Mill Road & Gonville Place. The Queen Anne car park is next door, then its the hotel and YMC.

Shopping - Grafton Centre is not that far away - East Road & Newmarket Road access to car park (opp new Crown Court). Shopmobility available there. Other shopping centre is a little further, The Grand Arcade, in the middle of the main shopping area of town and also has Shopmobility. Plenty of double yellows for Blue Badge holders.

Travelodge is in Clifton Road, off Cherry Hinton Road, built on the old cattle market, close to the railway station off Hills Road.

I've only stayed in one Holiday Inn, last August in Surrey and although it was a disabled room with plenty of wheelchair space, the bathroom IMO wasn't disabled friendly. The loo was ok but the shower was over the bath and I couldn't get in the bath and stand up to use it (no hip at the time).

Think i know where you mean ( travel lodge ) would say 15/20 walk to Gonville

whopps thought it was near the railway .Yes a long walk from cherry hinton road .Christine see you know Cambridge the best expect proud to say i did not get lost last night with out sat nav christine
